My first of 5 pics I'm doing for Dream Pod 9 (www.dp9.com). This is the Exo-Armor 'Korikaze' of the Jovain chronicles gaming lineup. This was a little difficult to work with considering this is my first time using someone else's style, & shading technique and I'm only recently playing around with perspective as well as more exciting poses. DP9 is very specific about their art. I like the mech though the lack of reference material made this a very complicated design to recreate. Though aside from that, I'm very pleased with how this turned out.
*Edit #1
I should have mentioned earlier that a grain effect was added at the last stage to give the illusion that the image is a screen capture from video. As a result the image looks lower quality but this is roughly how DP9 prefers their mecha pics to look considering how into anime they seem to be. I may have used to harsh a grain but ultimately this is how I had invisioned it so I am quite pleased with the turn out.
*Edit #2
After finding referance material for the correct colours, I've fixed & updated the image as well as reduced the grain by a fair amount. Since this is a first time with this style, I think I'll try and leave it as is now and improve on future pics in this style. My original coloured version with fixed grain as well can be found here, [link]
From 7 years ago. Would have been nice if more had continued with this. I like your artwork, it would have been great to see you do more for DP9. Too bad all their rpgs are more or less dead.
Very nice work here though. I do like the grain effect you settled on. I'm sure in the last 7+ years though you've moved way beyond this point though.
Another sweet mech design! I love the light sword... you did a good job making it really glow. Plus the robot looks quite dynamic and ready to cause some chaos... ah, how I love cool looking giant robots!
Thank you very much ^__^ I'm glad you're using it. I have to say I was worried about this pic but with some of the comments I've been getting, I think I might get the job

even if the design isn't yours. you made one hell of an exicution.
